A fire exploded this Sunday, August 10 in Arthur’s seat, a hill located in the center of the city of Edinburgh in Scotland. This Monday morning, the fire was still underway but under control, according to the BBC.
Firefighters were alerted on Sunday at 4:05 pm local time. “Four fire and specialized resources fighting machines have been deployed to combat the fire that affects a large AJONCS area (Editor’s note),” said a spokesman for Edinburgh’s firefighters.
This Monday, August 11, at 8 am, two machines were still on site to treat hot points after a last night fighting fire. No victim has been deplored in this hill that welcomes many hikers.
The population called to move
The fire is easily visible from several districts of Edinburgh, in the heart of the city and in height. Therefore, on social networks, many shared the thick smoke plume that escaped from the hill in flames.
From the stadium of the city, at the foot of the mountain, in the historical district or from the port, many images that show the magnitude of the fire in an entire side of Arthur’s seat have been shared.
The local population is asked that it does not approach the disaster.
