A mystery of 1967 partly resolved by two fishermen after the discovery of a car in the lower part of Mississippi

Two Minnesota fishermen discovered the body of a car at the bottom of the Mississippi, which turned out to be that of a man who disappeared 58 years before.

A curious coincidence that could end 58 years of mystery in the United States. During a fishing game in early August, two Mennesota men located a car at the bottom of the Mississippi river, CNN reports. What revives an old cold case since the divers discovered, on Wednesday, August 13, they remain inside, as the Stearns County Steve Steve Steve Steve Steveka said.

Brody Loch, one of the two fishermen, saw the body submerged with a sonar, a tool to locate underwater activity and, therefore, said.

“It was 100 %luck, if my friend had not caught this fish, we would have continued floating in the river and we would never have found it,” he told the media.

Unlike the fears of the authorities, the vehicle, a Buick of the 1960s, has not deteriorated when a local tow company raised it to the surface. “Surprisingly, it came out almost intact,” said Steve Soyka, while the human remains were in charge of an examiner for his exam.

“A large sum of money”

“We believe there are strong indications that it is Roy Benn’s vehicle, and they are probably his remains,” said Benton County Sheriff, Troy Heck.

“The researchers were able to formally identify the car from their identification number as belonging to Roy Benn,” can be read in a press release from the Sheriff’s office, referring to an individual who has been disappeared since September 25, 1967.

The last time they had seen him, he drove his car after dinner in Minnesota. He “would have transported a large sum of money,” said the Time Research Bulletin.

The investigation to find Roy Benn, a widower entrepreneur and after 59 years, continued more than five decades after his last appearance, CNN adds after consulting St. Cloud Daily Times, a local medium.

According to the same press, his brother Walter Benn sold the personal property of the disappeared to sell them at an auction a year later. Roy Benn was legally declared dead in 1975.
