Five people died in the Harlem New York district and 14 are hospitalized after contracting legionellosis, health services, pointing out air conditioning systems on Monday, August 19.
In total, 108 cases were confirmed in this district, said the New York City Health Department, specifying that the air conditioning cooling towers had been positive for this bacterium.
Legionellosis is a severe pulmonary infection, due to legionella bacteria, with a 9%lethal rate.
