A meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky will certainly not take place in the next few days. In an interview with NBC this Friday, August 22, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that “there was no planned meeting” between the two heads of state.
“There is no planned meeting (…), Putin is ready to meet Zelensky when the agenda of this summit is ready. And this agenda is not absolutely ready,” Lavrov said.
The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, accused his Russian counterpart on Thursday to try to “escape” at a meeting aimed at finding an exit to the war caused by the Russian invasion.
