Elon Musk is evaluating the reactivation of suspended accounts on Twitter. I asked users about this possibility after I allowed Donald Trump’s presence on the social network again.
“Twitter should offer blanket amnesty for suspended accounts as long as they haven’t broken the law or sent spam.”asked the owner of the company.
About two hours later, more than a million accounts had already spoken out, mostly for the reactivation.
On Saturday, Twitter’s executive chairman had already reactivated former United States President Donald Trump’s account, which had been banned following the January 2021 invasion of the Capitol.
Musk, who is also responsible for Tesla and SpaceX, has stressed that Twitter is a “digital public square” essential to democracy.
Still, he argues that content moderation is too restrictive and undermines freedom of expression.
In view of this, several brands have already suspended their advertising on the platform.
