Two Belarusian nationals were arrested in Warsaw after an overflow for a drone of government buildings, announced Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday, September 15.
“The State Protection Service (SOP, responsible for the safety of members of state power and power institutions) has just neutralized a drone flying over government buildings” in the capital, including the Palais du Belvedère, one of the presidential residences, Donald Tusk wrote in his X account X. “Two flushed citizens were arrested,” he added.
Poland placed on alert
A SOP spokesman told the TVN24 channel that the two drones operators were arrested on Monday around 7 pm (7 pm French time), without confirming that they were of bellruused nationality and without specifying the nature of the drone.
Poland and the countries of the Atlantic Alliance with a military presence on their ground have been on alert from the intrusion of September 9 to 10 to 10 of about twenty Russian drones.
Several European countries, including France, Germany and Sweden, as well as Great Britain, have announced the strengthening of their contribution to Poland’s air defense along its eastern border with Ukraine and Belarus, ally of Moscow.
