From the first seconds of his speech before the UN Gallery, Emmanuel Macron said that “the peace time came.” “We are a few moments that we cannot take,” continued the Head of Government.
As a balance, the French president quickly spoke of the hostages selected in Gaza, asking for the “liberation” of the 48 hostages held by Hamas.
“The law must prevail over force,” the French president continued. “Some will say too late, others will say too early,” but “we can’t wait anymore,” he argued.
• Recognition for “A Paz path”
The term “peace” was one of the most used words during his speech. Indicating that he was “a path of peace” between Israel and the state of Palestine, Emmanuel Macron said that “it should be feared that Abraham’s agreements are questioned.”
The Head of State said significantly that this recognition is above all “a way of affirming that the Palestinian people are not a people too strong in their history, their roots of their dignity.”
“The time has come to do justice to the Palestinian people and recognize a brother and a neighboring state,” added the French president.
This recognition is remarkably qualified by the latter as “a new peace architecture and credits of greater economic integration.”

Emmanuel Macron spoke of “the reluctance and fear of Israel,” reaffirming his “full support for the Israeli people.” “Nothing will be possible without the Israeli authorities who completely appropriate our renewed ambition to finally achieve the solution of the two states,” explains the French president.
“The Israeli people suffered the worst attack in their history on October 7,” said Emmanuel Macron, who again condemns this attack. “We think of the victims and (…) we demand that the hostages be released,” he added.
“We know that the bite of terrorism (…) is not possible weakness against terrorism,” recalls the President of the Republic.

After the recognition of the state of Palestine, Emmanuel Macron reminded Israel significantly his “absolute obligation to facilitate humanitarian access to Gaza, now deprived of everything.” We will have to make “a massive effort to do,” he added.
To achieve this, Emmanuel Macron calls significantly to “neutralize” Hamas “at the political level”, and ask “to end military operations in the territory of Gaza.”
For Emmanuel Macron, an embassy cannot be opened with the state of Palestine, “since all hostages (…) will have been released and that the fire has been established.”
Emmanuel Macron advances the idea of establishing a “transition administration” in Gaza, once the fire has been established. This would integrate the “Palestinian authority and Palestinian youth accompanied by security forces whose training we will accelerate.”
