This statement comes on the eve of a speech before the UN, in New York, by Benjamin Netanyahu, that some fear vindictive after a new wave of recognition of the Palestinian State.
He has already said that his government was going to extend Jewish colonization to an occupied West Bank. And the Israeli ministers, Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, went beyond, asking for their annexation.
“Dangers”
While the Israeli prime minister will go to Washington, “the Arab and Muslim countries have clearly told the President (Trump, the editor’s note) the dangers of any annexation of the West Bank and the risks of this would represent not only for a possible peace in Gaza but also for any sustainable peace”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi, Fayçal Ben Farhane, on Thursday.
“We are very close to having an agreement on Gaza and maybe even peace,” said the US President, on the other hand, after having remained with the head of the Israeli government. Donald Trump wants to “end up quickly” the conflict, said a White House official to the AFP, adding that the countries present at the meeting “had expressed their hope of working” with Steve Witkoff to study the project.
There is no paper for hamas
While Israel and the United States believe that new awards are a reward for Hamas, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas assured him on Thursday the UN General Assembly that the author of the Palestinian Islamist movement of the attacks on October 7 would not have “any role in governance.”
