The president of the United States, Donald Trump, offered a plan of twenty points on Monday, September 29 to end the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, and beyond the future of the Palestinian territory.
A plan that received almost unanimous support. Starting with the Palestinian authority that praised the “sincere and certain efforts” of the US president.
The authority “welcomes the sincere and determined efforts of President Donald J. Trump to end the war in Gaza, and trust his ability to find a form of peace,” according to a statement.
The “positive and constructive” will of the Arab countries,
Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan said, in a joint statement, to greet “the role of US president and his sincere efforts aimed at ending the war in Gaza.”
They affirmed “their desire to participate positively and constructively with the United States and interested parties to end the agreement and guarantee its implementation.”
On the other hand, the Islamic Jihad denounced “a recipe for an assault” against the Palestinians, in a press release.
“What was announced at the press conference between Trump and Netanyahu is an American-Israeli agreement and represents the position of the entire Israeli establishment. It is a recipe for the continuation of the aggression against the Palestinian people,” the Islamist movement said.
“A real peace opportunity” for Europe
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, praised Donald Trump’s “commitment.”
“I hope Israel is decidedly committed to this basis. Hamas has no choice but to immediately launch all hostages and follow this plan,” he wrote in X.
Throughout the channel, the plan has also been approved by the United Kingdom, which “supports it firmly”, while British prime minister Keir Starmer makes it an “absolute priority.”
His predecessor Tony Blair, from 1997 to 2007 and hoped to play an important role in a committee that supervises the transition to Gaza, praised a “daring and intelligent” plan. This plan “offers us the best opportunity to finish two years of war,” said Tony Blair in a statement.
The president of the European Union Council, Antonio Costa, urged all parties to “take advantage of this moment to give a true opportunity for peace.” “The situation in Gaza is intolerable. Hostilities must stop and all hostages must be released immediately,” he added about X.
