“Destabilization attempts”: Germany will authorize the police to demolish the threatening drones

While several drones recently flew over European airports, including Munich, the German government announced on Wednesday, October 8 that it wanted to authorize its police to use “physical measures” to neutralize these threatening devices. It is suspected that Russia is behind the sending of these devices.

The German government said on Wednesday, October 8 that it was going to authorize its police to demolish the threatening drones and exchange with Israel and Ukraine in their own defense, to face devices flights on sensitive sites that are suspected.

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt presented legislative amendments to strengthen the police media that can “act with advanced technologies against the threats raised by drones.”

“Darrizos to the drones will now be regulated and possible for the Federal Police,” he said at the end of the Council of Ministers where the text was presented.

An “Anti-Rone Defense Center” will be established

In addition, an “Anti-Drone Defense Center” will be established to coordinate the action of the German Federal Police and Länder, added the minister. The latter also indicated to work with countries with greater experience in the matter, Israel, on the one hand, but also Ukraine, a daily objective of Russian attacks against its cities and in front.

“We are already in contact with countries with a much more advanced experience in this area. We have an intensive exchange with Israel and also with Ukraine,” said the minister.

Without specifying a calendar, he mentioned a budget of an amount with “millions of euros with three figures”, that is, minimum of 100 million euros, which emphasizes that the team would also depend on the production capabilities of the interested industrialists.

Russia is “probably” behind the recent drones alerts in Europe, especially the one that paralyzed Munich airport at the end of last week, said Chancellor Friedrich Merz, describing these “destabilization attempts.”
