The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, denounced a Russian attack against the energy sector in Ukraine, and in particular in kyiv, with “more than 450 drones and more than 30 missiles directed against everything that contributes to normal life”, on the night of Thursday, October 9 to Friday, October 10, in a post published on X.
The head of state deplores a “cynical and calculated” attack, while kyiv and nine Ukrainian regions remain affected by power outages after the attacks.
Zelensky wants “decisive action”
“In kyiv, repair teams are working to restore electricity and water supplies. Power outages have occurred in the kyiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odessa and Dnieper regions,” Volodymyr Zelensky reports.
For this reason, he asked his allies on Friday to respond with concrete measures. “What is needed is not talk, but decisive action – by the United States, Europe and the G7 – through the delivery of air defense systems and the application of sanctions,” he said.
