The Israeli army announced on Tuesday, October 14, that it had identified the remains of hostages returned by Hamas the previous day. Among the four bodies is that of Nepalese student Bipin Joshi. The latter was working on a farm in Kibbutz Alumim when he was kidnapped. He was 22 years old.
Upon arrival in Israeli territory, the hostages’ coffins were transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification procedures.
“At the end of the identification process (of the four remains), army representatives informed the families of Guy Illouz, Bipin Joshi and two other deceased hostages, whose names have not yet been cleared for publication by their families, that their loved ones have been brought back for burial,” a military statement said.
Bipin Joshi was working on a farm in Kibbutz Alumim when he was kidnapped. He was 22 years old. Guy Illouz, for his part, was kidnapped at the Nova music festival, the scene of the largest massacre (more than 370 dead) perpetrated by Hamas commandos on October 7, 2023.
