Three of the four remains returned this Tuesday night, October 14, to Israel by Hamas were identified as those of Israeli hostages, the families of Ouriel Baruch, Eitan Levy and Tamir Nimrodi said this Wednesday morning.
The three families posted messages on social media after their loved one was identified by the National Forensic Institute, while the country waits to learn the name of the person who matches the fourth remains.
“Unbearable pain”
“With immense sadness and immense pain we announce the return of the body of our beloved Ouriel Baruch from the Gaza Strip, after two long years of prayers, hope and faith,” said the family of this Jerusalem resident kidnapped on October 7, 2023 at the Nova techno party, at the age of 35.
Relatives of Tamir Nimrodi and Eitan Levy also announced their return to Israel.
“With a broken heart and unbearable pain we announce that the body of Tamir, my beloved eldest son, was repatriated from Gaza (yesterday) afternoon,” Alon Nimrodi, father of this soldier captured at the age of 18 in a military base on the Gaza border, wrote on Facebook.
The family of Eitan Levy expressed with “tremendous sadness and deep pain” the return of the remains of this taxi driver, murdered at the age of 53 after dropping off a friend at Kibbutz Beeri on the morning of the Hamas attack. His body was transferred to Gaza the same day.
