The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed on Thursday the most “sincere condolences” on behalf of the Ukrainian people for the “irreparable loss” caused by the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a post on the social network Twitter, the Ukrainian president said that “it was with deep sadness” that he learned of the death of the British monarch.

On behalf of the Ukrainian people, Volodymyr Zelensky expresses his deepest condolences to the royal family, the entire United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries for this “irreparable loss”.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you,” he said.

Queen Elizabeth II died today at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, the royal family announced today.
