An alleged French drug trafficker, subject to an Interpol red notice, has been detained in northern Colombia, according to information obtained from an official source.
Resident in this country for four years, Traore Mamoudou, a French citizen, was detained in the city of Barranquilla, where “he had been installed for a year to try to escape the attention of the authorities,” he announced in a statement. Attorney General.

From this port on the Caribbean coast, Traore Mamoudou organized the shipment of drugs to various destinations in Europe, in particular by recruiting “mules”, passengers for airlines in charge of transporting the drug, he added.
He contacted “people in vulnerable situations and offered to hide the drug in themselves, in their bodies or in their luggage.”
Traore Mamoudou was particularly implicated in the case of a commercial technician recently arrested in flagrante delicto at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, with 16 kg of cocaine hydrochloride.
He was also “in contact with drug trafficking groups in Colombia to find other ways to export the drug,” according to the attorney general, who specified that the suspect was captured in collaboration with the French authorities.
