At least seven killed and 27 wounded in Ukrainian airstrikes in Donetsk

Authorities in the pro-Russian Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) accused Ukraine’s armed forces on Friday of causing at least seven deaths and 27 injuries in a series of airstrikes in the region.

According to the DPR Defense Headquarters, Ukrainian troops also launched an offensive against a hospital in the Kalininski district, the Russian news agency TASS said, citing media reports in Donetsk.

So far, the Donetsk authorities have not yet released figures on the deaths or injuries caused by the alleged attack, but witnesses at the scene say that the roof of the premises is on fire.

The military offensive launched on February 24 by Russia in Ukraine has already caused the flight of more than 13 million people -more than six million internally displaced persons and more than seven million to European countries-, according to the latest UN data. , which places this refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since the Second World War (1939-1945).

The Russian invasion – justified by Putin with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security – was condemned by the international community at large, which has responded by sending weapons to Ukraine and imposing political and economic sanctions on Russia.

The UN presented as confirmed since the beginning of the war more than 5,700 dead civilians and around 8,100 wounded, highlighting that these figures are far below the real ones.
