Kiev admits Russia can announce general mobilization

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov assured this Monday that Russia could announce a general mobilization and did not rule out the possibility of a new military advance on Kiev.

“They can strengthen their position. We understand that this can happen. At the same time, we do not rule out that they may declare a general mobilization”said Danilov in an interview with the digital newspaper Ukrainska Pravda.

Danilov believed that this mobilization would also be called “to exterminate the greatest possible number” of Russian civilians so that “they no longer have problems on their territory”.

In this sense, Danilov also recalled that Russia has not given up on guaranteeing control of Kiev or the idea of completely “destroying” Ukraine. “We have to be prepared for anything,” he said.

“I want everyone to understand that [os russos] they have not renounced the idea of destroying our nation. If they don’t control Kiev, they don’t control anything, we have to understand that.”continued Danilov, who also did not rule out that the new Russian offensive would come from “Belarus and other areas”.

In this way, Danilov praised the decision of many of its inhabitants, who decided to stay in the Ukrainian capital at the outbreak of war in order to protect the city.

“They expected panic, people to flee, nothing to defend Kiev,” he added, referring to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The military offensive launched by Russia in Ukraine on February 24 caused at least 6.5 million internally displaced people and more than 7.8 million refugees to European countries, so the United Nations classifies this refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since World War II World War (1939-1945). ).

Currently, 17.7 million Ukrainians need humanitarian aid and 9.3 million need food aid and shelter.

The Russian invasion – justified by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russian security – was condemned by the international community at large, which responded by sending arms to Ukraine and to impose on Russia political and economic sanctions.

The UN presented 6,755 civilian deaths and 10,607 wounded as confirmed since the start of the war, underlining that these numbers are far below the real ones.
