A special adviser to the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Sunday condemned the violence in Paris after the murder of three Kurds, blaming the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
“This is the PKK in France,” said Ibrahim Kalin, posting photos of burned cars on Twitter. “The same terrorist organization that you support in Syria,” the adviser added.
“The same PKK that killed thousands of Turks, Kurds and security forces over the last 40 years. Now they are burning the streets of Paris. They will remain silent,” he added.
A day after the murder of three Kurds on Friday in Paris, demonstrations honoring the victims were marred by violence. The French pensioner allegedly responsible for the murders claimed to have acted out of racism.
During the demonstrations, slogans such as “Long live the resistance of the Kurdish people” were chanted.
The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by Ankara and the European Union (EU).
