kyiv adviser says Putin does not want to negotiate, but “shirk responsibilities”

The main adviser to the Ukrainian Presidency, Mikhail Podoliak, denied Russian President Vladimir Putin this Sunday, saying that Moscow is not interested in any negotiations, as it demonstrates by continuing to “kill citizens”, and that it is only trying to “evade responsibility”.

Podoliak said that “Putin needs to come back to reality” and questioned the reasons he has been putting forward to justify the invasion of Ukraine.

“There are no other ‘countries, reasons, geopolitical’. Russia does not want negotiations, but tries to evade its responsibilities. It is obvious,” the adviser wrote on Twitter.

“We will see each other in court,” Podoliak said, in line with Ukraine’s line of not sitting down to negotiate with Russia while that country is under conditions imposed by Putin’s Kremlin.

The main adviser to the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, also spoke hours before the latest Russian offensive in Kherson, which occurred on Christmas Eve, which left 16 dead and dozens wounded, criticizing those who support the so-called peace initiatives of the Kremlin.

“I will remind those who propose to pay attention to Putin’s ‘peace’ initiatives that at this moment Russia is ‘negotiating’, killing the inhabitants of Kherson, exterminating Bakhmut, destroying the networks of kyiv and Odessa, torturing civilians in Melitopol … Russia wants to kill with impunity,” Podoliak wrote on Twitter.

“Killing women, children and the elderly on Christmas Eve! This is ‘Russian peace’! Turning Kherson into a ‘dead city’ with Grad shells after cowardly fleeing! This is the very essence of Russia’s bloodlust “, he claimed.
