There’s a new bomb cyclone on its way to the United States. This time, the meteorological phenomenon will hit the west coast the next morning, especially the state of California, the most populous in the country.
The US Weather Service [NWS, na sigla em inglês] He launched an alert for rain and strong wind, where gusts can exceed 100 kilometers per hour in some places.
People in large urban centers like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento were advised to sandbag their houses in low-lying areas and stay home.
“The population should avoid staying in wooded areas or near trees. If possible, stay on the lower floors of your home and avoid being near windows,” read a notice released by San Francisco authorities.
The state of California was affected in the first days of the year by heavy rains and the soils are still unstable, which could increase the risk of flooding, flooding and landslides.
On Christmas Eve, a bomb cyclone brought heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures to the US Central and Eastern Coast, affecting millions of people. The phenomenon caused more than 50 deaths.
