Brexit, Covid and ‘partygate’: Boris Johnson writes his memoirs of his years in Downing Street

The former British prime minister will publish his memoirs, publisher HarperCollins announced Monday. A date for the book’s release has not been announced.

Boris Johnson is writing his memoir to tell the story of his tumultuous years at the helm of the British government, publisher HarperCollins announced Monday.

“I look forward to working with Boris Johnson as he writes his account of his time in office during some of the most significant events the UK has seen in the recent past,” said Arabella Pike.

The editorial director of William Collins (HarperCollins), promises memoirs “like no other.”

a series of scandals

No date for the book’s release has been announced, while the 58-year-old former prime minister is frequently mocked for his long-awaited Shakespearean biography.

Coming to power in July 2019, Boris Johnson delivered Brexit, won a majority unprecedented since the 1980s, led the country through the Covid-19 pandemic, a virus that nearly cost him his life, facing a succession of scandals that they were finally forced to resign.

Once again a mere MP, he is still under a parliamentary inquiry over the Downing Street holiday affair in breach of anti-Covid rules, threatening his ambitions to come back.
