The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, lamented, on Wednesday, the death of the Ukrainian Minister of the Interior and 18 other people after a helicopter crash near a kindergarten in kyiv, Ukraine.
“We join Ukraine in mourning the tragic helicopter crash,” Charles Michel wrote in a post on Twitter.
“Minister Denys Monastyrsky was a great friend of the European Union. We share our deepest condolences with the families of the victims, President Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the people of Ukraine,” he added.
At least 18 people, including three children, were killed when a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building in kyiv, Ukraine. Among the dead is the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The helicopter belonged to the Ukrainian Emergency Services and was carrying nine people.
According to the authorities, 22 people were hospitalized in an emergency, including 10 children.
So far the causes that caused the fall of the device are unknown.
