But this Sunday, on Telegram, the Ukrainian authorities claimed that their troops had destroyed a Russian-held field hospital in Kadiyevka, near Lugansk, territory in the east of the country that Russia claims to have annexed.
In any case, this is the meaning of the statement by Anton Geraschenko, adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who posted the following message on the platform:
“Russians were defeated by Himars (rockets, editor’s note) at Kadiyevka, Ukrainian armed forces destroyed the occupiers’ field hospital.”
The former Ukrainian diplomat, Olexander Scherba, also echoed the fact on Twitter, with a supporting photo. According to him, the affected Russian soldiers were for many Chechens deployed in the place by the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
“Strikes of Opportunity”
General Jérôme Pellistrandi, BFMTV consultant for defense issues, analyzed: “The Ukrainians are looking to attack in depth, 10, 20, 30 km or even 40 km from the other side of the front line and therefore these attacks in these areas where there may be clashes by Russian soldiers, it is often blows of opportunity.”
While the officer noted that these facts would need further corroboration, he continued:
“It is clear that the Ukrainians are trying to attack as many military targets as possible because when they themselves are attacked, their civilian population is attacked as we saw in Dnipro with 45 civilians killed, and in a way there is a desire for revenge.”
