Ukraine: Zelensky’s car involved in an accident, “no serious injuries found”

The Ukrainian president’s car was involved in a traffic accident in kyiv, Sergii Nykyforov, a spokesman for Zelensky, said on Wednesday night.

A car collided with that of Volodymyr Zelensky and the convoy that was escorting the presidential vehicle, reports Sergii Nykyforov, spokesman for the Ukrainian president, broadcast by the Reuters news agency on the night of Wednesday to Thursday.

Zelensky was not seriously injured, Nykyforov said in a Facebook post published shortly after midnight. The Ukrainian president “was examined by a doctor, no serious injuries were found.”

The driver of the other car was injured.

The president’s spokesman does not specify when the accident occurred, but indicates that the authorities will seek to determine the circumstances of the crash.

The driver of the car that collided with Zelensky’s received “emergency help” from doctors accompanying the Ukrainian president.

Minutes after Nykyforov’s statement, a video of Volodymyr Zelensky’s daily speech was posted on his Telegram account. The website of the Ukrainian presidency did not mention the accident shortly after 1 a.m. on Thursday.
