A residential neighborhood in the city center of Kharkiv, Ukraine, was hit by two missiles on Sunday. Local authorities report five injured and the Ukrainian press adds that a Kharkiv University building was also attacked.
Further south, in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Kherson, explosions were also heard this morning.
While Western Europe has sent weapons to Ukraine in recent days, Russia has claimed to have gained some territory in Bakhmut, a war-torn town east of Donetsk. However, the head of the Russian Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said the Ukrainian army was not backing down and fighting was continuing in the northern part of the city.
“In the northern districts of Artemovsk, fierce battles are taking place for every street, every house, every staircase. Ukrainian forces are fighting to the end,” Yevgeny Prigozhin said.
