Seven children between the ages of two and 14 died on Monday along with their mother in a fire at the house where they lived in Charly-sur-Marne, 100 kilometers east of Paris, firefighters reported.
According to police and firefighters, the father was seriously injured and was taken to hospital.
The children, five girls and two boys, and their parents were sleeping on the second floor of the home when the fire started, according to police.
