Moscow recorded one of the darkest Januarys in its recent history this year, with the sun shining for only 21 hours throughout the month, Russian meteorological authorities said.
“In January there were 25 days without sun in Moscow,” stressed Roman Vilfand, head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, quoted on Monday by the Moskva radio station.
The same source added that during the entire month of January, Muscovites saw the sun for just 21 hours in six days.
“On January 2, the sun shone for about six hours. On the 6th, four hours. On the 7th and 8th, about three hours. On the 9th, one hour, and on the 12th, five hours,” added Roman Vilfand.
In this way, the levels of ultraviolet radiation in the first month of the year were the lowest since records began in 1968, reported the Efe agency.
