Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the United Kingdom today, where he will be received by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and will address Parliament in London, the government has announced.
During the visit, Zelensky and Sunak will visit Ukrainian servicemen undergoing training in the UK and meet with British military leaders to discuss details of the training programme. According to a government statement, the UK will extend the training of Ukrainian soldiers to members of the air force and navy.
“President Zelensky’s visit to the UK is a testament to his country’s courage, determination and struggle, and a testament to the unwavering friendship between our two countries…Since 2014, the UK has provided vital training to Ukrainian forces, allowing them to defend their country, their sovereignty and fight for their territory,” the note read.
