More than 36 hours after the first major earthquake to hit Turkey and Syria, people are still being pulled from the rubble. A video released on Wednesday shows the moment two children were found trapped under the rubble of their collapsed house in the small town of Besnaya-Bseineh, Syria.
“Get me out of here, I’ll do anything for you. I will be your servant”, the oldest of the girls is heard saying to the man who found her.
“Take me out and I’ll do what you want, I’ll be your servant!” Syrian girl telling the savior, who comforts and protects her little brother under the rubble in #Syria. This is terrible and heartbreaking. #SyriaQuake #depress #turkey #TurkeyEarthquake #TurkeyQuake pic.twitter.com/bRJ2Gt5V4X

According to CNN, the father of the two children says he, his wife and their three children were sleeping when the 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Syria. They all ended up being rescued alive.
“We felt the ground shake and stones began to fall on our heads. We were under the rubble for two days.” The rescue teams heard the cries for help “we were rescued, my wife and children. Thank God we are all alive and we thank those who saved us.”
The girl’s name is Mariam and the youngest (he does not say if it is a boy or a girl) Ilaaf, which in the Islamic language means “protection”. Both were taken to the hospital.
