After arriving in London, his second visit abroad since the start of the Russian invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to be in Paris on Wednesday night, BFMTV has learned from concordant sources.
During a meeting in London on Wednesday with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Zelensky urged his Western allies to provide him with the “necessary weapons” to stop the Russian invasion.
He “underlined the importance of Ukraine receiving the necessary weapons from the allies to stop the Russian offensive and liberate all temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories,” the Ukrainian presidency said in a statement after the exchange between the two leaders.
He then delivered a speech to British lawmakers at Westminster Hall and is scheduled to travel to the southwest of the country to meet with Ukrainian soldiers in training. The Ukrainian president visited the United States in December.
Zelensky in Brussels on Thursday?
He is also expected in Brussels on Thursday for a European Union summit, although this visit is unconfirmed.
European Council President Charles Michel said late Monday that he had invited Volodymyr Zelensky “to participate in person at a future summit.” “It could be this Thursday”, but “nothing is closed”, we explained to the Council.
