With a strong focus on Ukraine, the Lusa agency launched its yearbook for 2022. A document based on the look of journalists and photojournalists from the Portuguese agency around the world, highlighting one theme per month. In this 10th edition, there is a special 24-page section on Ukraine — with texts and photos by Pedro Caldeira Rodrigues, Henrique Botequilha, Miguel Lopes, Paulo Agostinho and Nuno Veiga who were sent to the conflict zone.
According to Joaquim Carreira, chairman of the board of directors of the Lusa agency, quoted in a statement, “the 192 pages, with 245 photos, help to remember the main events in 2022”, not forgetting “the absolute majority of the PS, the appearance of the new leaders in the PSD and PCP, the sad and ever-present worsening of the environmental crisis with the drought, fires and floods”, the elections in Angola or the death of Queen Isabel II, in addition to the cases that shocked Portuguese society, such as the one for pedophilia in the Portuguese church.
