Due to a technical problem, the American company SpaceX had to cancel the launch of a spacecraft that was preparing to transport four astronauts to NASA’s International Space Station.
The mission was suspended at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, United States, two minutes before its scheduled launch time, with the company reporting that “there was no time to resolve the engine ignition system issue.”
So far, the private company SpaceX has not provided any details about the date of the new launch.
In the Falcon, the astronauts, two Americans, one Russian and one from the United Arab Emirates, had to wait about an hour for the fuel to be completely removed from the engines.
This team’s mission is to replace the four astronauts who have been on the NASA International Station since last October.
According to the Associated Press, citing SpaceX officials, the cancellation may be due to a “problem” related to the ground equipment used to charge the engine’s ignition fluid.
A SpaceX engineer compared “the critical system to the spark plug system in a car”.
