Russia reveals drone attack on different regions of its territory

The Russian authorities said this on Tuesday At least one drone crashed near “civil infrastructure” in the Russian city of Kolomna, in the Moscow region, as well as in other regions of its territory.

Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobiov said the incident took place “near the village of Gubastovo” and added that “the target was probably civilian infrastructure”, although there were no reports of injuries or property damage.

Russia’s Defense Ministry also accused the Kiev regime of “attempting to use unmanned aerial vehicles to attack civilian infrastructure in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adigueya”.

“The drones have been eliminated by electronic warfare units of the Russian Armed Forces,” the ministry said in a statement.

Russian military authorities reported that “the drones lost control and deviated from their flight path”, clarifying that “one of them fell in a field and another failed to reach civilian infrastructure”.

Ukraine has not yet claimed responsibility for these incidents.

Hours before the drones crashed, Purovo airport in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg briefly suspended operations due to “an unidentified object,” emergency services said, adding that two fighter jets had been moved to the area.

The initial decision was to close the airspace within a 200-kilometer radius of Pulkovo airport, forcing several flights to be diverted.

The mayor of the Russian city of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, confirmed the evacuation of a skyscraper after “a drone penetrated through the window of an apartment”.

In recent months, Russia has denounced several drone strikes against airports and other targets on its territory, particularly in areas close to the border with Ukraine.
