Billionaire Elon Musk, the sole owner of Twitter, wants to get into the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is hiring computer engineers to develop a ‘chatbot’ (robot-driven dialogue platform) to compete with ChatGPT.
The Information portal, which cites three sources, ensures that Musk wants his ‘chatbot’ to be less ‘awakened’, that is, with fewer content restrictions on controversial issues related to politics, race or sex.
To do this, he hired Igor Babuschkin, who has just left Alphabet’s artificial intelligence unit, called Deep Mind, and specializes in developing machine learning patterns capable of making chat rooms more sophisticated and believable.
Musk himself has not confirmed these plans, but on his Twitter account today he published a document in which he refers to the matter.
The ‘wake-up’ trend, of political correctness, has been an obsession for Musk, who has often accused traditional media such as newspapers and television of succumbing to restrictions on speech and practicing censorship of ” freedom of expression”.
Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, but left the company in 2018 to avoid potential conflicts of interest, as Tesla, the electric vehicle company he runs, was also working on AI.
