In a speech peppered with references to God and the Bible, Bolsonaro reiterated that he believes he has done a “good job” and that he has always defended freedom, even during the pandemic: “I have not forced anyone to take a vaccine in Brazil .”
A conservative, the former president said he opposes “gender ideology” and private property is “under threat” in his country. He criticized Lula’s government for repealing its decrees.
On an international level, Bolsonaro stated at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that if he was in charge of the country, there would be no Iranian ships anchored in Brazil.
The former president also prided himself on being “the last president to recognize the election two years ago here in the United States” in which Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump. “I remain true to our principles, to our motto: ‘God, country, family and freedom’.”
