Two US inmates punched a hole in a wall with a modified toothbrush to escape prison, Virginia state officials announced.
The escape lasted just nine hours, with the prisoners captured at a restaurant that specializes in pancakes and breakfasts, police in the southeastern city of Newport News said in a statement released Tuesday.
According to the statement, the two men, who have been in prison since last year, took advantage of a structural flaw in the prison during the excavation, which was already being studied by a team of engineers.
