Ten people were killed and two police officers wounded on Wednesday in clashes in the western Mexican state of Michoacán, authorities said.
The state Public Security Secretariat reported that the violence began at dawn this Wednesday in the municipality of Tarímbaro.
The State Attorney General’s Office said that groups of hit men invaded three houses, where they killed three men and a woman. Two of the victims were burned.
The same institution also reported the discovery of the bodies of two men, with traces of torture and gunshot wounds, just ten kilometers from Tarímbaro.
The eighth victim was a man shot to death by a group of attackers who invaded the house where he lived, in the Pablo Galeana neighborhood, south of the city of Morelia.
The Civil Guard of Michoacán reported that other attackers were also responsible for acts of violence at various points in the municipality of Zitacuaro, in eastern Michoacán and on the border with the State of Mexico, where a convenience store and a transport van were installed. public. fire. .
In this municipality, agents of the National Guard and the Civil Guard managed to kill two of the attackers, resulting in two policemen being shot.
