Ten people were injured during a Hi Fly flight of the Angolan airline Taag that landed at Lisbon airport on Thursday.
The Airbus A300 was making the Luanda-Lisbon connection when it was the target of major turbulence while flying over the Democratic Republic of Congo, says O Novo Jornal.
In a statement, TAAG explains that the problems on board were due to “adverse weather conditions”, which forced the company to reschedule another flight that was also destined for the Portuguese capital.
According to the description of the Angolan newspaper and the photos published on social networks, various objects, including food and drink carts, were projected inside the plane, hitting the passengers.
Eight passengers and two crew members were injured and received first aid during the flight. At least one person was seriously injured and was rescued by the doctor on board.
Upon arrival at the Humberto Delgado airport, after a seven-hour trip, the injured were received by several INEM ambulances and assisted by medical teams, after the airline had activated an emergency response.
