Joe Biden denounces the war waged by Russia, which “annihilates Ukraine’s right to exist”

The US president spoke in favor of increasing the number of member countries of the UN Security Council, of which Russia is a member, unlike Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden denounced on Wednesday a “shameless” violation of the founding principles of the United Nations by Russia, following Vladimir Putin’s announcement of a partial military mobilization in Russia.

“Over the last year, our world has seen tremendous turmoil,” Joe Biden said at the UN General Assembly, citing “a brutal war that is not necessary, chosen by one man.”

“Russia has blatantly violated the principles of the UN charter” in the context of the war in Ukraine, according to Joe Biden.

“Even today, President Putin has launched nuclear threats against Europe in defiance of the responsibilities of the non-proliferation regime,” the US president denounced.

A war that “annihilates Ukraine’s right to exist”

Vladimir Putin said Wednesday ready to use “all means” in his arsenal against the West, which he accused of wanting to “destroy” Russia. “He is not a bluff,” he said Wednesday. The White House immediately denounced “irresponsible rhetoric from a nuclear power”, indicating that it takes this threat “seriously”.

“This war just destroys Ukraine’s right to exist,” said Joe Biden, who reaffirmed his support for Ukraine.

In an address to the nation, Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday the mobilization of 300,000 Russian reservists to fight in Ukraine and supported the organization of emergency annexation “referendums” in four regions of eastern and southern Ukraine. Joe Biden called these referendums “dummy” at the UN.
