“You have a brave heart. Thank you for everything you do.” British actor Orlando Bloom is thanked in Kiev by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelnensky. The recovery of the country, namely the school infrastructure, and the children brought to Russia were topics that were discussed during the meeting between the two.
The British actor, who is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, said “war is destroying Ukrainian children’s childhood” in an Instagram post, where he shared some images from the visit to Ukraine.
Bloom noted that there are “thousands of schools in Ukraine that have been damaged or completely destroyed”. “Almost 2.7 million Ukrainian students are forced to study online or in a mixed form. About 1.5 million Ukrainian boys and girls are at risk of developing depression, anxiety and other psychological problems,” said the actor.

“During the meeting, we discussed humanitarian aid projects, reconstruction issues that focused specifically on children’s interests. UNICEF and our teams will work in different directions, bring victory closer and give Ukrainian children back a happy childhood,” the actor and Zelensky said in posts posted on social media.
In addition to meeting with the Ukrainian president, the actor visited a children’s center. “When I see the children, the fear is palpable… and yet the strength of the Ukrainian people is truly inspiring,” Bloom told the Ukrainian head of state.
