Ukraine said on Thursday that Russia’s presidency of the United Nations Security Council, which begins April 1, is “a bad joke”.
“Russia’s presidency of the Security Council from April 1 is a bad joke. Russia has usurped its place, it is waging a colonial war, its leader is a war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court for child abduction,” the Ukrainian minister said. of Foreign Affairs. Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
“The world cannot be a safe place with Russia in the United Nations Security Council,” he added.
The chairmanship of this body rotates monthly between the 15 member states. Russia would have little influence on decisions, but would be responsible for setting the agenda.
