At least one person died this Tuesday and 30 were injured, including 19 seriously, in the derailment of a train between The Hague and Amsterdam, in the south of the Netherlands, rescue services said.
“One person died and at least 30 were injured,” they added.
“Serious injuries were taken to nearby hospitals,” while 11 people received help in neighboring homes, the emergency services website said.
The train derailed at about 03:25 (02:25 in Lisbon), after colliding with construction equipment on the track, in the municipality of Voorschoten, on the stretch connecting Leyde and The Hague, they said.

“The cause of the accident will be investigated,” authorities said.
