Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, 86, entered the intensive care unit of the San Raffaele hospital in Milan on Wednesday, following a heart problem.
According to the AFP news agency, the businessman was hospitalized this morning for “cardiovascular problems” and his current condition is “stable.” The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera adds that Berlusconi was admitted to hospital with difficulty breathing.
Silvio Berlusconi, Italy’s three-time head of government, has had a pacemaker since 2006 and has been hospitalized several times for heart problems. The most recent hospitalization was last week, officially for routine tests.
In April 2021, Berlusconi was hospitalized for more than three weeks due to “aftermath of Covid-19”, which he contracted in September 2020. In 2019, he underwent surgery for intestinal obstruction.
