A ‘drone’ exploded at the airport of the Russian city of Belgorod, located on the border with Ukraine, on Monday, Russian authorities announced on Tuesday, which so far have not reported any casualties or material damage.
Russian authorities, quoted by the Russian daily Izvestia, said the “drone” exploded on the airport grounds around 4:30 p.m. local time (6:30 p.m. in Lisbon) on Monday.
So far, the Russian government has not named those responsible for the incident.
Belgorod province, as well as Briansk and Kursk provinces, have been under attack since the outbreak of war in Ukraine on February 24 last year on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Russian government, these Russian provinces are on anti-terrorism alert due to attacks by Ukrainian forces.
