Berlusconi leaves intensive care

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been transferred from intensive care but will remain in hospital, the report said. Corriere della Sera this Sunday.

Berlusconi, 86, had been in intensive care at Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital since April 5. The former prime minister has leukemia and suffers from pneumonia, although doctors believed there was a steady improvement last Thursday.

This Sunday, Silvio Berlusconi was “transferred to a normal care unit,” the daily wrote, citing sources close to his family.

Berlusconi has chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), a rare form of blood cancer that his doctors say mainly affects older adults.

Silvio Berlusconi is currently a senator and his right-wing Forza Italia party is part of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s coalition government, although it rarely appears in public.
