British Defense Minister Ben Wallace has predicted that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will extend beyond 2023, urging the international community to “be realistic.”
In an interview with the New York Times, Wallace said there was a strong possibility that hostilities “will continue until 2024” and expressed confidence that the Ukrainian Armed Forces “will soon launch a counteroffensive.”
“I am optimistic that this year or next, Ukraine will continue to move in this direction,” he added.
However, he also warned that nations supporting Ukraine must be “realistic and understand that Russia will not simply collapse.”
Sources close to US intelligence suggest that kyiv and its allies are actively preparing a counterattack against Russian forces and say such an operation could begin on April 30.
