A train collided with a car on Sunday at an intersection in northern Germany, killing three people in the vehicle, a police source said.
According to police, the regional train rammed the carriage at full speed near Neustadt am Ruebenberge, on the outskirts of the city of Hannover, German news agency dpa reported.
The 22-year-old driver of the car died along with two women who were traveling with him in the vehicle, ages 21 and 22.
On board the train were 38 passengers and four railway employees. One person was slightly injured.
The vehicle would have entered through an intersection, despite the fact that the barriers, which did not cover the entire width of the road, were closed.
