Russia: Sergey Lavrov accuses the West of “grotesque” Russophobia

The Russian Foreign Minister spoke this Saturday at the rostrum of the United Nations General Assembly.

Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, spoke on Saturday at the rostrum of the UN General Assembly. He strongly criticized the attitude of Western countries towards the war in Ukraine and Moscow, and in particular the United States.

“Western countries are subject to the United States, which does not respect geopolitical processes,” he said. He stated in particular that “Washington and Brussels [avaient] provoked the war against Russia.

“Official Russophobia in the West is unprecedented, its scale is grotesque. We are more ashamed to say that we want to make Russia disappear”, Sergei Lavrov still regrets.

On the other hand, he called for a reform of the United Nations Security Council. He proposed to include India and Brazil, and “expand the participation of African countries.”
