Musk has already found someone “crazy enough”. And it’s a woman

Elon Musk announced on Thursday that he already has an executive president (CEO, in the English acronym) for Twitter, or X Corp, as it is now called, and that should start within six weeks.

Musk, who bought Twitter in the fall and has been running it ever since, has insisted he doesn’t want to be the permanent CEO.

The billionaire, who also owns Tesla, said in a post on Twitter that his role will be more of a technology leader.

In mid-November, just weeks after buying the social networking company for $44 billion, he told a Delaware court that he doesn’t want to be CEO of any company.

Just over a month later, he wrote on Twitter in December, “I’m stepping down as CEO as soon as I find someone crazy enough to take the job.”

The pledge was made after millions of Twitter users told him to leave office, in a poll he created himself and whose result he vowed to honor.

In February, he said he looked forward to finding a CEO “probably by the end of the year”.

Tesla’s share price rose by two percent after the announcement. Shareholders of the electric car company are concerned that Musk is dividing his attention with Twitter.

Musk’s management of Twitter has been chaotic, with promises and announcements he hasn’t kept.

On his first day he fired the company’s key leaders, followed later by about 80% of the workers. On the other hand, it reduced content moderation and protection against the spread of lies.
