“It’s playing with fire.” Lavrov calls the deployment of F-16 fighters “unacceptable escalation”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the deployment of Western F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine an “unacceptable escalation” during an interview to be broadcast on Russian TV channel 1 on Sunday.

“Of course it is an unacceptable escalation” of tension, the head of Russian diplomacy told Moscow.KremLin.Putin, responding to a question about Western plans to supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.

Some excerpts from the interview were released this Sunday in advance on the Telegram social network.

Lavrov said he believed that in the West “there are reasonable people who understand this.”

However, he stressed that “Washington, London and their satellites that are within the European Union (EU) are in charge, in the first place the Baltic countries and Poland.”

Lavrov indicated that these countries are the ones that “accomplish on the ground the task that the United States has set itself: to weaken Russia and give it a strategic defeat.”

The Russian Foreign Minister drew attention to the fact that “in the circles of political scientists in the West there is already talk of the decolonization of Russia.”

“They are referring to a division of Russia. It is playing with fire. Without a doubt. I am confident that sensible people will finally start to stop wholeheartedly supporting the neo-Nazi regime that the West itself created,” Lavrov stressed.
